Hi crystal4290-ga,
Here is what I have found for you.
Spain:
This site lists each hospital on a separate frame. Rather than enter
them all here, I have tallied each region here (Clicking on each
region will give you a list- I counted each hospital/center that
performed kidney (riņon) transplants) In counting, I counted only once
hospitals that were listed separately for adults and children.

From the Health Ministry web site (Ministerio de Salud) in Spain, this
site is written in frames: You will need to click on the links in the
left hand column to find numbers, histo-compatibility centers and
more, in Spain.
You didn?t ask for number of transplants in Spain, but I found it interesting!
http://www.msc.es/Diseno/informacionProfesional/profesional_trasplantes_e.htm
According to this Berkeley site, 48 people out of 1 million in Spain
had renal transplants in the year 2000.

found almost to the bottom of the page, in the paragraph above the
last illustration.)

36 out of every 1 million people in the Netherlands had a kidney
transplant in 2000, per this Berkeley site:

No dates are given for this data. It is probably within the date frame
you gave. While this appears to be a well maintained and up to date
site, I can?t vouch for which year these centers were listed. I have
sent an e-mail requesting how recently the list has was updated, which
I will post if and when I get an answer.
UK:
This UK Transplant site was last updated Jan. 9, 2004, and reports
that there are 27 renal transplant units in the UK.

Portugal
This Portuguese Health Ministry Transplant Coordinator site is in
Portuguese, and is written in frames. Click on the link in the left
hand column that says ?Agentes envolvidos?, scroll down almost to the
bottom to ?Unidades de Transplantaįão renal?, meaning Renal Transplant
Units. The site lists 8 transplant centers in Portugal.
(You can also copy the address below and paste it in Google?s page
translator, found here, ://www.google.com/language_tools?hl=en
Where it says ?Translate a web page? , then select from Portuguese to
English and click ?Translate?. Note that these translations can be
poor, but you can get the gist!)
