Have you tried contacting customer support from your computer maker?
Have you installed any new software on this computer recently?

Hello,

There could be two reasons for this: one that you have enabled some
program which is creating hotkeys: another reason and the more
probable one is that some of your keyboard keys is "stuck" (the
circuit is pressed). The key combinations that you mentioned start the
same programs when used with the Windows Key (the Key with the
Miocrosoft Windows monogram). When I used the keys you have problem
together with the Windows Key I get the tasks open which the
WinKey+[Key] is associated with, however other problems like not being
able to type a particular letter are somewhat strange problems, and I
suggest that you temporarily replace your keyboard to check if
something is wrong with your keyboard. If the other keyboard works
fine then there is something wrong with your existing keyboard, if not
then there might be some memory-resident program (something like IOLO
MacroMagic) which is starting the programs on those keys being
pressed.

I hope that helps.

Regards,
muhammad-ga

Hello, 22dad94:
What brand of keyboard are you using? That behaviour could happen
because you have a multimedia/multifunction keyboard and you have
locked on an special function.

Regards.

Sometimes, for mechanical, electrical, or software reasons, a key
appears to be unpressed, but registers as pressed to the operating
system. This would give you the behavior as described by muhammad-ga.

To clear it, simply tap each windows key a few times. If that fixes
it, great. If not, it's likely the keyboard has simply died. Check
by borrowing one from another machine (and REPLACE the current
keyboard, don't simply plug the other one in as well).

Hi Folks

Particluar thanks to muhammad-ga. You have solved my problem! It was
my fingers inadvertently hitting the windows key whilst I was typing
fast.. It is a new key board which is physically smaller than my old
one. So I will have to be more careful in future!

Thanks again and sorry for the delay in replying. I have been out of
town for a few days

kind regards
