Question ID: 298348
I have a 650M file that I view using my ATI Video Player or Windows
Media Player, it is a 10 hour long movie clip, so I believe it is
either an AVI or MPEG file. Anyhow I would like to create a separate
file containing just the audio portion of this movie. I have a
program called CoolEdit that I thought would work but I don't know how
to do it. Is there an alternate way to achieve this please?

VirtualDub should let you do this, and it seems, with considerable
ease. Better still VirtualDub is free!

"There are lots of programs that let you "edit" video.  And yet,
they're frustratingly complex for some of the simplest tasks.
VirtualDub isn't an editor application; it's a pre- and post-processor
that works as a valuable companion to one:

*	Reads and writes AVI2 (OpenDML) and multi-segment AVI clips.
*	Integrated MPEG-1 and Motion-JPEG decoders.
*	Remove and replace audio tracks without touching the video.

You can download VirtualDub from here:

Hello,

Apparently, the file is an AFS file and VirtualDub says that due
to a Microsoft copyright for AFS files it can not seperate the audio
from the movie - HELP!!!!

Thanks!!

I'm not really sure what this program does, but you could try
downloading "AFS Extract 7.1.3 Beta 5" from
http://www.thewolfpespc.com/Utilities.htm

...see if that helps (?)

If not, I have one more idea up my sleeve.

I mad a HUGE mistake sorry... I meant to say it is an "ASF" file not
an "AFS" file! Someone please tell me how I can split/seperate only
the audio portion of this movie into a mp3 or music file !!! Thanks!
