Question ID: 298708
I'm looking for a Chinese manufacturer of AL203 (aluminum oxide with a
purity above 95%) bushing insulators. The bushing insulators can be
up to 1/2" in diameter. Bushing insulators typically have an
approximately 1/8" hole in the center. I want to purchase these
quantities of 5,000's or more. These insulators are used in the
semiconductor, telecommunications, optical coating, and/or thin film
deposition industries.

Hello there,

I have a few questions, if you don't mind:

1. Are you looking for ANY bushings that meet your specs (under 1/2",
Al2O3), or do you need a specific size for the outside and inside
diameters?

2. Does it have to be China? There are a lot of high-quality bushing
mfrs in India, and perhaps elsewhere. The aluminum oxide requirement
makes this a tough search outside of the U.S. manufacturers, so if I
can look in countries other than China, it might make it more likely
to find one that meets your needs.

Let me know.

Thanks.

The term bushing is a generic term that simply means a washer like
object. In this case it is made of Alumin Oxide and is used as
mechanical spacing device with electrical insulating properties in a
vacuum envirement. Bushings come in all sizes, however in my case I'm
looking for the smaller sizes. The reason I mentioned China is that I
have reason to belive the American Alumin Oxide companies are having
serious competitive problems with these items made in China. You are
correct India is another excellent choice

Thanks for the clarification. I'll begin looking into possibilities,
but if you have a chance, please provide one or two additional
details:

--You mentioned that you wanted to purchase in quantities of approx.
5,000 -- is that one lot of 5,000 identical bushings, several lots
different sizes of bushings, 5,000 for each lot, or a single lot of
about 5,000 of mixed sizes.

The reason for my asking is that once I begin communicating with
companies, it is always their first question -- what is your client
interested in buying, and in what quantities? The more you can tell
me, the better.

--Does it positively, absolutely have to be aluminum oxide, or will
any other material meet your needs?

I look forward to hearing from you on this.

Hello again,

Just to let you know, I have a few queries out to manufacturers and
suppliers in several countries, and I will let you know what I hear
back from them. In the mean time, if you care to add any additional
details (as per my note, above), they would be most helpful.
