I am running an Internet radio show from a Win XP box using Winamp and
sending to a Shoutcast server, no problems there. I got a USB Telex
M-560 microphone that seemed very nice, and produces wonderful sound,
but I can't seem to get the output of my soundcard to mix with the
output of the mic. This is troublesome, as I would like to have Winamp
playing something softly while I talk over the music. I am using
version 5.0 of Winamp.

The devices (main sound driver and Telex USB mic) are listed
separately in the Windows Mixer control under properties (Volume
Control) and I have to pull down to get a separate panel named
"Capture" that controls the level of the mic. My sound card is onboard
Avance AC97. The Telex website doesn't contain much help, and I've
looked up and down and all around trying to find solutions.

Perhaps there is a piece of software out there that helps mix USB
mics/audio devices into a main soundcard output? The reason I need it
to be incorporated into the mix, is otherwise Winamp cannot use
anything but the USB mic, or just Winamp's output of its playback to
forward onto the Shoutcast server.

Regular mics work fine, but I'd love if I could get the USB one to work.

I'd be more interested in software solutions rather than hardware. I
think it's possible, perhaps research will show not, but I'd like to
avoid a lot of hardware changes at this time.
