T.C. Cannon produced a painting entitled "Osage with Van Gogh". It is said that it was based on another painting. I need to know what painting that was? Thank You |

The painting has a certain resemblance to James MacNeil Whisler's "Arrangement in Grey and Black #1" (often called "Whistler's Mother"). Here's Cannon's painting: http://www.nd.edu/~tschlere/visam/native_american/images/cannon.jpg And Whistler's: http://www.cassavafilms.com/list9_2001/graphics/list9-whistler.jpg |

Please excuse my typographical errors. For 'MacNeil', I should have typed 'McNeill'. For 'Whisler', read 'Whistler'. |

I agree 100% with my friend and colleague Pinkfreud. The painting is an obvious take-off on "Whistler's Mother." |
