Given the decline of the dollar we are interested in a list of
countries of the world ranked as "Places a US Dollar still buys a lot"
I'd think it would be countries with failing (underperforming)
currencies and/or those that link their value to the US Dollar.
I'd be interest in calculating the relative changes in the last year
between the US dollar and the local currencies in the countries we
presently import from.
Backgrond -- I am a pottery importer -- I buy pots from Ghana, Ivory
Coast, Vietnam, China, Malaysia, Great Britain, Mexico, Honduras,
Ukraine, Russia -- there are lots of places to get pots. We are
seeing margins squeeze with the US dollar slipping. We generally
realize that some places still have better deals -- hence this
question.
