Hi There !

I will soon give a speech where self-deprecating
humor would be perfect. Unfortunately, I am too
egomaniacal to devise my own humble humor. ;-)

A 5-star answer would be 1 or 2 book titles
(or other sources) devoted to this type of humor.

Please note that "insult" humor directed at others
or general joke books would not be helful.

All comments greatly appreciated !

Thanks !

Hi Ron,

Rodney Dangerfield's whole act is devoted to self-deprecating humor.
He's the master of the self-put-down. As such, if you're looking for
books devoted to self-deprecating humor, I can think of no better
choice than one or two of Dangerfield's collections.

"No Respect (1995)
The much-loved comedian who gets 'no respect' showcases his popular
stand-up act in a collection of new one-liners"
Available from Alibris:

Or an earlier book:
"I Don't Get No Respect" (1984)

Also be sure to check out Rodney Dangerfield's web site:

search strategy:
alibris, author: dangerfield rodney

I hope this helps. If not, please let me know via the "request
