I am looking for a monthly periodical (or website) aimed at retail game store owners. The periodical/website should be one that describes industry-wide upcoming products including collectible card game releases (Magic, Yu-Gi-Oh, etc.), collectible miniature games (MechWarrior, HeroClix, Warhammer 40k, etc.), board games, and any other products of interest to retail gaming store owners. The key here is that the resource should be aimed at retail store owners, not consumers. Information provided to readers should include intended audience for upcoming releases, marketing tips, etc. It should be industry-wide, not just for one specific manufacturer. |

Hello-- I have carefully researched your question and have your answer. There are in fact several different web sites, publications, and databases that cater to retail game store owners. I conducted a Google search for the following terms: game retailer association You may view the results of my search online. The link is ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=game+retailer+association From there I found an organization called the American Specialty Toy Retailer Association. I then searched the following terms: American Specialty Toy Retailer Association You may view the results of my Google search online. The link is ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=American+Specialty+Toy+Retailer+Association The American Specialty Toy Retailer Association conducts market research and tips and publishes a magazine full of information to specialty toy retailers. You may read the entire list of services and benefits of membership online. The link is http://www.astratoy.org/about_astra_fs.htm I also found an organization known as the Interactive Entertainment Merchants Association. I then conducted another Google search for the following terms: Interactive Entertainment Merchants Association. You may view the results of that search online. The link is ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=Interactive+Entertainment+Merchants+Association I located the "Interactive Entertainment Merchants Association." Their web site is http://www.iema.org/ I found the services of members of the IEMA to include industry research, education and training, government relations, an events calendar, and a schedule of release dates, "Unsure of the latest new product release dates? This is yet another one-stop resource available only through the IEMA, a comprehensive database of up-to-date listings of street dates for all known interactive entertainment product. While the system is only as perfect as the information it's supplied by the manufacturers, we understand it to be the most accurate release schedule online." You may view the detailed descriptions of the services offered to members of the IEMA online. The link is http://www.iema.org/services.php I hope this helps. If you need any further information or any clarification, please don't hesitate to click the "clarify" button. Thanks, darrel-ga |

You should check out http://www.diamondcomics.com/ This outfit puts out monthly previews of comics, toys and games. They have retailer links that require registration but the preview magazines can be previewed online. |
