My experience with these types of high-priced market-analysis reports
is that they are not made available to libraries. Most libraries
probably can't afford them as a priority item, and even if they could,
the publishers don't necessarily want these books in libraries. They
want people to pay a lot of money for the information that's in the
reports, not just visit the library and make a photocopy.

Best of luck with your search, but I'd be surprised if you actually
find a copy. On the other hand, if you're doing academic work, it may
be worthwhile to simply contact the publisher and explain the nature
of oyur work -- they may be willing to make excerpts of the report
available to you at no charge.

Can't hurt to ask....!

You are absolutely correct!

However, this report sells for USD 700 - 1,000 and I was hoping a
library with a strong emphasis on Chinese trade or cultural might have
a copy.

... and thanks for the suggestion on contacting the publisher. That
might be my last resort.

Thanks, again!

Steve

Hi steve_at_sms,

Oddly, it doesn't seem to be readily available in many of the major US
libraries - the Chinese University of Hong Kong doesn't even record a
copy in their catalogue.

No record here, either:
UNC Charlotte - J.Murrey Atkins Library:
http://libweb.uncc.edu/ref-bus/vibehome.htm

Here are three links which may help you:

LibDex library index: USA by state:
http://www.libdex.com/country/USA.html

Link directory of academic business libraries:
http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/BUSI/businessLibs.html

Directory of subject specific libraries:

Good luck,
hummer

Hummer, et al,

Is there a public-access portal anywhere to OCLC / FirstSearch?

Thanks!

Hi Steve,

If you search for a book at the ABAA (Antiquarian Booksellers
Association of America) and no match is found, you will be able to
search the OCLC.

Use the search field here (or click on Advanced Search"):
http://www.abaa.org/

If no match is found, the next page will be:
"No matching items. Try again after removing or relaxing some requirements.
OR: Find it in a WorldCat Library by pressing the button below:"
