Where can I get a thorough guide, manual, tutorial on the ECS Elite Notebook computer? I bought a brand new one in July, and all that came with it was a "quick guide" that told me almost nothing--(in 5 languages). This laptop has a 10 gig hard drive, CD burner, DVD player, etc. but I am not able to make good use of it without support, which didn't come with it. (It has Windows 98--at my request). |

applejackandjill-ga: Unfortunately, ECS does not provide any useful support for their notebooks, especially when used with Windows 98. The reason they recommend Windows XP for use with all of their notebooks, is because WinXP has native support for all of the components used in their notebooks, freeing them from the need to provide any additional drivers and support. Win98, on the other hand, will not have native support for the vast majority of the new components used in the notebook, such as the CD-burner, DVD support, and even some aspects of power management. One possible solution for you is to contact directly via their contact site: http://www.ecsusa.com/support/supportCenter.html and ask them specifically for assistance.
