...I'm looking for pieces of information about Magic Cards. Is there
a simple explanation of the games points and how they relate to
winning, and are there cards that are unbeatable?

mgrowsom1-ga:

Have you already checked out the resources available from the
manufacturer's website, at:

http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=magic/splash/welcome

Here you will find some tutorials on the game, and an overview of some
of the more common cards. Please note that new cards are released in
every new series, and that while there are some extremely powerful
cards, the integrity of the game requires that no card be
"unbeatable", otherwise there would be no fun in the game!

Hello Mgrowsom1,
Have you heard of the latest fad in customizable card games, Yu-gi-oh?
I believe that this and Magic cards have the same principle: two
players start off with a number of points, and each player tries to
reduce the other player's points to zero with the attack values on the
cards (that represent summoned beings). I think the closest thing to a
pattern in these card games is a "themed deck" - a choice of the
fighting cards based on a certain "theme" chosen by the player.
Numerous sites for example give suggestions on "Exodia deck",
"beatdown deck", "discard deck", "Dragon deck" and so on for Yu-gi-oh.
I heard of a Magic theme based on a powerful Archangel card... it's
mentioned somewhere in this site. I hope I've enlightened you a bit.
