Hi I have a bluetooth compatible laptop. I was thinking of buying a GPS system for my car but they are very expensive. Just stumbled accross a USB add on for my laptop on EBAY (Bluetooth ones are available) at a much better price. I know very little about these things and would like some recommendations as to which models I should consider. I'm a UK buyer so links to UK EBAY and sites would be prefered. I'd spend around £150 or under and would like a choice between the USB and Bluetooth versions. The system will be used in my car so I want a pretty accurate one. I've already looked at a Rikaline bluetooth product, available on Ebay at : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=15005&item=3072690069 Also, what software do I need to get...anything else I need to know. Many thanks for your help!! |

Hi Hi Yellowsub. As a sailor, I have a handheld Lowrance Globalmap 100 for use at sea, but am still able to use it in my vehicle. It will track and record your journeys and give a very accurate speed reading. Not too sure about any software packages available to match your position [ latitude and longitude] to your particular town road network. Some simple GPS units can be had secondhand for as low as $Aus100. Hope this helps. |
