Dear books2929 Thank you for your question. The answer is 150,000 titles, according to an R.R. Bowker news release of May 26, 2003: "R.R. Bowker, the leading provider of bibliographic information in North America, today released a wide range of statistics on the U.S. book industry compiled from its Books In Print? database. The most notable finding is that U.S. title output increased 5.86 % to 150,000 new titles and editions in 2002." The full text of the news release is at: http://www.bowker.com/bowkerweb/Press_Releases/DecadeBookProd.htm You can see a graph showing the growth of US book production for the decade 1992-2002 at: http://www.bookwire.com/bookwire/BookProduction/BookProductionGraphs.html Please ask for a question clarification if you require further information.
