I am told I need to get an AV channel but there is no remote control
and it seems to have decided to auto detect channels 1,3,4,5 and 7
(cable). I can't find a way of searching up and down the frequencies
to see if there's one sitting there for the DVD player. As the VCR is
integrated it just over-rides the channels when a cassette plays

Thanks

How is the DVD connected to the TV/VCR unit - what is the labeling of
the sockets on the DVD and the DVD/VCR, and what does the cable plugs
look like?

DVDs are normally connected via a SCART cable
(http://www.empiredirect.co.uk/images/ianside/ProductGuides/scart.jpg)
or a S-VHS cable (http://www.mimatsu.co.jp/cntnts/htm/img2/av/svhs_cable.jpg).

Are there any other controls on the TV/VCR than Power on/off, Channel
+/- and Volume +/-?

I have linked the DVD Player to the cable set-top box via the SCART
cable into the set-top box's VIDEO hole as was advised by the cable
company. They said that all that was needed to get the dvd playing on
the TV was now to access the AV channel or find it manually. There are
other buttons on the front of the tv-video combine - I don't know to
what they apply. They are search + and -, set x10 and x1, erase and
monitor

It does have a remote sensor but there's no remote (was bought second
hand) and I have no idea what kind of remote to get, or how to
consider that option

Thanks

How is the set-top box and the TV/VCR connected (what kind of
cable(s), and what are the labelling of the holes)? Are there any
controls on the set-top box (including its back)? Does the set-top
box have its own remote control?

Are there any free connectors on the back of the TV/VCR - if so, how
are these labelled?
