We are searching for a travel agent. A REAL travel agent with superior
customer service for a business traveler. We've had the same agent for
10 years and she is leaving the business. We want a recommendation for
an agent that can be on-call, easy to reach and can get us the best
pricing plus excellent seating. We book many trips each month for one
and sometimes two people.

To clarify: one business traveler from the U.S. We do not care if the
agent is out of the state of Colorado. We do all our business via
telephone and email anyway. Who cares where this travel-gem is located
as long as we can contact them anytime? Most travel will be in the
contiguous U.S. with a few trips each year to the Bahamas, Hawaii,
Alaska and Vigin Is. both U.S. and British. There could one
international trip each year, but rare. The agent would be asked to
arrange car rental/limousine rental, keep the travelers frequent flyer
numbers and rentals car numbers on file when arranging travel to make
certain the vendor has logged them. The agent would have to provide an
invoice for service on each ticket destination.

By "on-call," do you mean 24 hours a day, or during business hours?

Well, usually we need this person from 7a/MST to 5p/MST (or daylight
time depending on the time of year). But, if the traveler gets stuck
somewhere due to weather or flight delays and must be re-routed, he'd
like to be able to call someone for help, if necessary. His work
depends on being in certain places at certain times of the day. If he
doesn't make it, it's a bad thing.

I'm not a researcher, but i work in travel (not a travel agent) i'm
sure they would need to know what city and or state you are in and are
you looking for mostly domestic or international tickets....i assume
you need a corporate agent for a business rather than just your own
personal travel & not vacations? I work with A Lot of great travel
agents in the US (you are in the US right?) and may at least give you
an agency to contact/interview.
