Hi There !

I would like to buy a 30" - 60" computer monitor.
The largest I've found this far is 22".

Given that TV's are routinely sold from 30" to 60",
I assume monitors are also available.

Please note that a presentation projector which projects computer
screens onto a wall for group viewing...is not what I need.

Rather, I need a regular computer monitor (on steroids!) for
use with a regular Dell computer, doing regular Word
and Excel document processing. Just regular stuff. :-)

A 5-star answer would be the name of the manufacturer
of one of these monitors.

All comments greatly appreciated !

Thanks.
ron

Hi, Ron!

Is resolution important here? If, for instance, a monitor can be found
that will look good at 800 X 600, would that suffice, or do you need a
higher-res display?

Here is a 40-inch beauty that can handle wide-XGA (1,280 X 768):

As I sit here staring at my itty-bitty monitor, I think large thoughts. ;-)

Let me know if I can target the search more specifically, or do some
price-hunting for you.

Best wishes,
Pink

Ron,

Since you posted a remark to Hedgie in the "Clarify Answer" section,
I'm required to respond, since I was the Researcher who posted the
answer. Unless you need something further from me regarding this
question, you needn't respond to my response. Endless rounds of
"Clarification Ping-Pong" can be quite exhausting. ;-)

You can consider a computer screen projector. That way, you can make
the image as big as you want.

As for real physical monitors, Apple offers a 23" display
(http://www.apple.com/displays/acd23/) at 1920 by 1200 resolution.

"Just regular stuff"??

Ron, you're making me *drool*. Dell had a *gorgeous* 40 inch LCD on
their kiosk at the local mall over Christmas, and all I could think
was "Oooh, if I had that much screen to play with, I could
turbo-research."

And here you are talking about "regular stuff". Sheesh.

I greatly appreciate your comments. And so much passion !

Maybe I should start hanging out in Best Buy rather than the produce section.

Isn't that like sitting in the front row at the theater?

Hope you don't get whiplash. =)

Must be nice to have $10K to drop on a monitor...

Hey Ron,

If you're hanging out in the produce section, I wanna come too! It's
soup season, and you wouldn't believe the beautiful vegetable soups
and stews you can make with the veggies available now!

Great Answer,

respree----thanks for your comments. The whiplash and the 10 grand go together.
Here's my sneaky plan: buy the hardware, fake the whiplash, file a
lawsuit, and then the monitor is free.

Kidding! Just a bad joke for my ambulance-chasing friends...

Thanks for writing.
