About a year ago we used a service provided by sympatico.ca which
enabled one to alert emailers that one was 'out or office or out of
town'.We selected that option but regret we do not know how to turn it
off hence we've tried typing in AUTOREPLY GEWTMAIL@sympatico.ca &
regrettably we have not received any details pertaining trying to
erase that ancient message.Surely there must be a simple way to
achieve that?!Why sympatico refers one to Google I do not know -
surely they should have an intelligent answer.

smiley123-ga:

Thank you for your Question regarding how to turn off the Autoreply
feature for your Sympatico e-mail account.

The information you are looking for can be found on Sympatico's
Service Desk website. Here is a direct link to the relevant page:

Setting an automatic reply (vacation) message
http://service.sympatico.ca/ServiceDesk/ServiceDesk-Content.cfm?SDID=122&SDCategoryID=91&Page=1

The instructions on that page refer to the web-mail interface,
GetMail. You can access this interface by going to:

http://getmail.sympatico.ca

and logging in with your username (b1......) and password.

I hope that this information helps, please do not hesitate to ask me
for any additional Clarification if required.

Regards,

PS: You also wondered why Sympatico would refer you to Google. As far
as I am aware, Sympatico has their own search engine capability, which
may or may not be powered by Google. In any case, in the future if you
run into problems associated with your Sympatico ISP account, I
recommend that you first go to:

http://service.sympatico.ca/Home/Home.cfm

to seek a solution there. If you are not able to find an answer there,
then there is always Google Answers to help you!
