What company, or companies, are working on converting nuclear
radiation directly into electrical energy, similar to the way solar
cells convert sun light directly into electrical energy?

I believe "self-healing silicon" has something to do with the process.

Just to be sure, you mean radiation emissions, like gamma radiation,
etc., not the waste or anything that doesn't flow through the air,
right?
