Hello Bill--

Is the answer I posted as a comment what you were looking for?

Mr. Miller,

I tried calling the number you listed in your comment below, but they
don't answer and there was no voice mail or answering machine. I
suspect it might be a payphone.

At this point, trying to find out where the charge came from should be
the least of your concerns. Unless you don't mind being held
responsible for the charges, you need to dispute them with your credit
card issuer right away - the clock is ticking.

Do you know what the procedures are to dispute the charges and have
them reversed, or would you like us to explain those for you?

To Missy-ga and Darrel-ga
The information you provided was great. It answered my question as
best as it could be answered. I would appreciate some information on
the dispute procedure if you have it readily available.

But my major reason for this clarification is: How do I post the
feedback that you all did a great job. Thanks

Bill--

There are plenty of ways to dispute a charge to your account.

The Federal Trade Commission's guide to the Fair Credit Billing Act
states you are protected. Federal law limits your responsibility for
unauthorized charges to $50 for charges that list the wrong amount or
date and for charges for services that you didn't accept, among other
stipulations.

You may read more about the Fair Credit Billing Act. The link is
http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/credit/fcb.htm

You should write to the creditor at the address given for "billing
inquiries," not the address for sending your payments, and include
your name, address, account number and a description of the billing
error. Send your letter so that it reaches the creditor within 60 days
after the first bill containing the error was mailed to you.

Below is the additional information I had previously entered as a comment:

billmiller-ga,

FYI:

I have an AOL account, and so I entered the nbrcan@aol.com address
("Screen name") into the AOL service's Member Profile finder, and the
results do not list any (voluntary) profile information. "nbrcan" is a
valid screen name, however, or a message would indicate otherwise when
scanning for a profile.
