i am building an automobile insurance site from
scratch, and was wondering if someone can tell where I
can find or purchase a database for: (automobile -
year make model)  of all the automobiles in the U.S.
from the year 1988 to current?  I need to import the
data into a sql database.

I actually looking for something very similar, except I only need
commercial vehicles (year, make, model) for vehicles 1988-current.
