Hi,
I was told by my aunt that two of her uncles used to be famous Czech
sportsmen in the 1920s. She remembers having seen lots of cups in her
grandmother's home in Prague before and during WW II.
This is what I know about them:
They were Günther Pettera born in Prague in 1900 and his brother
Max Pettera born in Pisek, Cz in 1901.
They both were icehockey players, playing, so I was told, for the
national Czech icehockey team. They both also were famous athletics,
Max Pettera being the Czech national high jump record holder in or
around 1920. One of the two, I believe it was Max Pettera, was even
nominated to participate in the either 1920 Antwerp, Belgium, or the
1924 Paris, France, Olympic games, but didn't take part because he was
injured at the time.
So far I have not been able to find any proof for this on the
internet. E-Mails to various national sports clubs or the Czech
National Olympic comittee have not been answered.
I wonder if there is an expert at google answers who can help me. |
