Our firm: perdidokey.com is a Real Estate Concern on Perdido Key,
Florida. We have sponsored listings under the terms: perdido key and
perdido key florida. However, we want listing on the left-hand side
under the same terms. How can we achieve this?

Hi Virtuewave ~

For the search term Perdido Key `

I have seen your advertisement as a "Sponsored Link" on the right-hand
side and, this morning, as a "Sponsored Link" across the top of the
search engine results pages (SERPs).

Are you asking about having your advertisement above the search returns?

Or are you asking about having your site, www.perdidokey.com, listed
in the returns of websites for that term?

================

While the ads and search results appear on the same page, they are
really two unrelated matters. In order to answer your question, it
would help to know which you are asking about.

Thanks for your help in clarifying your question.

Hi again ~

I would normally answer this question with the suggestion that the
site be submitted to Google through the Add:URL page,
   - ://www.google.com/addurl.html

and offering Google's "best way" to be included in its directory,

"The best way to ensure Google finds your site is for your
page to be linked from lots of pages on other sites.
Google's robots jump from page to page on the Web via
hyperlinks, so the more sites that link to you, the more
likely it is that we'll find you quickly."
   - ://www.google.com/webmasters/1.html#A2

Have you actually submitted the site using the Add:URL page?

=============

A search for www.perdidokey.com returns the following results:

"Sorry, no information is available for the URL
      www.perdidokey.com

     * If the URL is valid, try visiting that web page
by clicking on the following link: www.perdidokey.com
     * Find web pages that contain the term "www.perdidokey.com""

[Search Link]
  - ://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&q=www.perdidokey.com&btnG=Google+Search

Clicking on the "Find web pages that contain the term ..." returns
about 124 results, including the site's main page - which indicates
Google is aware of the site.

This leads me to question whether the site was listed at one time or
another in the past, especially since it has a PageRank of 4/10 in
Google's toolbar.

================

While only Google knows if a site has been penalized for spamming or
gaming the system. There is some evidence that this site may be one of
those which were "over-optimized" and could possibly have been removed
for that reason.

A search for certain unique terms, such as "800-717-SAND" and other
unique snippets of the site's content show up in some surprising
places (including the web designer's site) with redirects to the
Perdido Realty site - another clue that there may have been duplicate
material or other reasons Google may have penalized the site.

=================

Questions:

1. Have you actually submitted the using Google's Add:URL ?

2. If so, how long ago was that?

3. Has this site actually been listed at one time or another and is no
longer listed?

Answers to those questions may help you determine whether to merely
submit it via the Add:URL tool or whether to reconsider the design and
an email to Google to consider re-including the site.

Thanks,
Serenata

Since we seem to be having trouble communicating, I'll run this by you again.
1) The search terms we are seeking for www.perdidokey.com are: perdido
key and perdido key florida.
2) What should we do to have www.perdidokey.com come up on the first
page of the UNSPONSORED LISTINGS for the search terms: perdido key and
perdido key florida?
I hope this clarifies the one question we are asking you. If you need
to call me for more clarification please let me know.

Thank you for your clarification ...

In answer to your clarification - there is NO way you or anyone can be
assured of a first page listing in Google's index (unsponsored
listings) for any search term, including the two you mention.

This is from Google's "How Do I Get Listed On Google", "The Basics",

"Google does not accept payment for inclusion of sites
in our index, nor for improving the rank of sites in
our results. We do offer advertising opportunities
adjacent to our results, which are always clearly
labeled "Sponsored Links." The method by which we find
pages and rank them as search results is determined by
      the PageRank technology ..."
   - ://www.google.com/webmasters/1.html

There are 116,000 results for the term "Perdido Key"; and 84,900
results for the term "Perdido Key Florida". Your site is not in cluded
among those returns at all.

The best anyone can do is tell you how to be included at all, through
information provided by Google and other reliable resources. That
includes information on user-friendly and crawler design, offering the
most relevant informatin for those search terms and relevant links TO
your site.

No one, not even Google, will guarantee you first page results in the
Google's search index for any term, period.

Google's responsibility is deliver the *most relevant* information in
response to a searcher's query.

If you wish to be included, it is your responsibility to deliver that
information, following the recommendations and suggestions in Google's
Webmaster Guidelines. Bear in mind there are thousands of others who
wish to be on that same place who DO follow the guidelines and work to
attain those top rankings.

There really is no way you can be guaranteed of even being included in
Google's search index, let alone getting a high ranking.

Thanks,
Serenata
