Hi Moongrapx,
The file you describe is usually associated with a virus, and a
spyware company. You will want to remove this as it is wasting your
resources, and eventually will cause larger problems. I didn't post
this as an answer, because I feel the removal of this would be the
appropriate answer. You can't just delete this file in many cases, it
is usually associated with other software.
I have a solution to this issue, but i'm going to need some
participation from you. The file you are seeing, is part of a larger
problem. It can be part of a virus, or it can be part of an annoying
spyware program which will increase the amount of popup ads you see
while surfing the internet. I believe this is the second type.
(Spyware is a type of program download behind the scenes usually
without your consent, which sends information about your web surfing
habits in order to better direct pop up ads to you.)
First step in the solution of your problem is to run a free online
virus scan, then download some software. It is free, and it is easy to
use.
http://www.pandasoftware.com/ On the bottom left corner of this page
is an offer for a free virus scan of your computer. It has an up to
date virus database, it is free, and it can't be corrupt since it is
not loaded directly on your machine. It will ask you to click yes to
trust the company. I have been using this software for many years and
trust them completely. Once the virus scan is complete remove any
viruses it names, and then post here. If it doesn't name any (my
fingers are crossed here) then goto the next step.
Ad Aware is a spyware and ad ware removing program. It will search
your computer and notify you of any files or programs which may be
advertising information about your surfing or computer usage. It then
assists you in removing it.
http://www.tucows.com/preview/236049.html on the right side of the
page choose your operating system, download the file which is named
aaw6.exe. Install this software and run it. I think you will find a
few programs and alot of files to delete. Please post and let me know
how this goes.
