The LCD display on the back of a digital camera is intended to be used
to review photos as the are taken. However, people often use it to
view photos, and pass the camera around between their friends (etc). I
know there is a term for this adopted practice but I can't remember
what it is. Can anyone find this out for me, and give me some
background on the origin of this term?

many thanks!

ps I should clarify - I am looking for a specific term that is almost
on the tip of my tongue. Please don't make up a term or choose
something 'almost appropriate'. I originally found it out reading some
article about a digital camea on the web.
