Hello gojohns-ga,

According to IRS Publication 526, ?Charitable Contributions?, the
value of your time or services is not deductible as a charitable
contribution.

Department of the Treasury
Internal Revenue Service
Publication 526 Contents (Rev. December 2003), Cat. No. 15050
Charitable Contributions
http://www.irs.gov/app/scripts/redirectPDF.jsp?dest=/pub/irs-pdf/p526.pdf

See Table 1. Examples of Charitable Contributions?A Quick Check.

?Value of your time or services? is listed in the column titled ?Not
Deductible As Charitable Contributions?.

See Table 2. Volunteers? Questions and Answers

?I do volunteer work 6 hours a week in the office of a qualified
organization. The receptionist is paid $6 an hour to do the same work
I do. Can I deduct $36 a week for my time?

No, you cannot deduct the value of your time or services.?

See also page 5, ?Contributions You Cannot Deduct?.

?4) The value of your time or services?

Also, on page 6, in the paragraph titled ?Value of Time or Services?, it states:

?You cannot deduct the value of your time or services, including:

- Blood donations to the Red Cross or to blood banks, and

- The value of income lost while you work as an unpaid volunteer for a
qualified organization.?

The link to the download page that I listed only works if you get
there from the list of forms and publications.

I apologize for the confusion.
