Over his six years as head of state of Afghanistan, Mullah Omar issued
many edicts, orders, and statements. I would like to see them all, in
English, and to this end need to find a data base which contains them.
Can you locate that for me? NB: I gather that the Afghan Islamic
Press, based in Peshawar, Pakistan, has carried most if not all his
statements, but I have been unable to locate the data base containing
them. |

Dear Rwg,
You stated "I would like to see them all, in English, and to this end
need to find a data base which contains them.". It is highly unlikely
that all of those documents have been translated into English.
What would you like to receive in such a case?
- All of the documents that have been translated
- Sources for all of the documents, including those that were not translated.
In any case, it is highly unlikely, given the infrastructure and
general condition in the area, that these would be found online. Would
you like an off-line source or must it be an online source?

responding to a question from politicalguru-ga, my understanding is
that AIP distributed Mullah Omar's statements, etc., to other news
agencies. My assumption is that AIP would have wanted to make it
available beyond those outlets in the interest of widest possible
distribution (at a time there was limited interest in the daily
activities of the Taliban). As for access, well, I will of course have
to be satisfied with the maximum and easiest access available, if
possible online, if not through some means in Washington DC, where I
am. (I am unable to travel to Peshawar at this time). With thanks for
your interest.
