I am a Los Angeles resident looking for a good emergency roadside
assistance provider other than AAA. I'm looking for reviews or
comparisons in things like areas of coverage, pricing, quality of
service, etc.

I tried looking through the list of providers from Yahoo Directory:
http://dir.yahoo.com/Business_and_Economy/Shopping_and_Services/Automotive/Repairs_and_Service/Emergency_Roadside_Service/

However it's difficult to say from this which company offer the best
service or the best deal...

As a side note, in case you wonder why I don't want service from AAA..
I recently cancelled my AAA membership after finding out about its
anti-environmental lobbying practices conducted behind members' backs:

Thank you.

Many insurance companies, car dealers, and car manufacturers, and the
like offer these kinds of services. Would you want this list to
include these?

Thanks,

I'm interested in companies selling roadside assistance as a primary
offering. However, I welcome additional reviews on this type of
service provided by companies as an "add-on". My main concern is
that, for example, if car manufacturer X offer a great ERA option, I
may not be able to take advantage of it unless I drive or purchase a
car from company X. Of course, if the company offers its ERA service
as a _separate_ deal that I could buy without other conditions, then a
review for this service is most welcome!!

Hope that makes sense. Thanks!
