Thanks Andrew! As requested, I've reposted my comment below: There are any number of reasons why your questions aren't being locked at the moment. -- It's Sunday. Many of our Researchers spend Sundays with their families. -- Your questions may fall outside of the expertise or interest of the Researchers who *are* answering today. -- The information you seek might not be available. -- Time zones. We're scattered all over the world, so the Researcher best capable of answering might be asleep. Or at his or her regular job. -- Site crankiness. Some of us have had trouble logging in to the site to answer. Generally when this happens, we go find something else to do for a couple hours, then try again. This helps prevent frustration. Have patience! If someone is able to answer you, they will. I have one of your questions locked myself. --Missy |

Andrew, my colleague Missy has provided some very good reasons - let me add that some of your questions are highly technical, and likely only a select few researchers would be capable of addressing them... The Triton ATM question - would likely require someone familiar with the exact type of machine, or a source of such data. I've looked at it and determined that I could not address it efficiently, for example. The casino question - very interesting question, but coming up with a list of casinos that has all of those factors in common may take several days of work... ...also, it's Superbowl Sunday!!! happens to be halftime right now... thanks, ragingacademic |

i was wondering the same thing about the questions I have asked. I have come to the conclusion that the lack of responses is due to the nature of the question asked. Questions that are not researchable require specific knowledge of a specific area. Therefore the number of responses is going to be limited. i'm still hoping for some responses to my questions, though :-) |

andrewrose-ga, It's just a matter of time. I agree that there may be a paucity of Researchers working on SuperBowl Sunday. Also, the technical nature of your quesitons narrows the pool of researchewrs who are qualified to answer them considerably. As you know, the time it takes for a quesiton to be answered is inversely proportional to its price. Hang in there, your question will be answered. omniscientbeing-ga |
