After accessing www.lbfca.diaryland.com, I click on the "More Lechery
in Guestbook3" and get the error message........."Page cannot be
displayed". I have tried everything............Earthlink help and two
computer gurus I trust implicitly. Have cleared cache, cookies and
history. Also have done Windows Updates. Do you have any
suggestions?

Hi Scriptor

No, it doesn't work. I get the same "Page cannot be displayed" message.

This is a puzzlement. Both the link posted by Scriptor and the TinyURL
link that I posted take me to a page entitled "Welcome to the
Lecherous Broads for Clay Aiken Guestbook Volume 3."

Is there some sort of network censorship to which you are subject? I
know that some schools and businesses have filters that can interfere
with access to certain kinds of sites. I wonder whether the word
"lecherous" may be activating some sort of censorship that is
preventing you from seeing the page. It's certainly not porn, but it
could be mistaken for porn by an overzealous filter.

LBFCA is a website I have accessed for months now with no problem. I
can't think of anything I've done that would change network
censorship. Also, there are other websites that I have the same
problem with.........not being able to
access a link from them. Not all.........just some. Another
thing....I know several of the gals who post on the Lecherous Broads
site and they aren't having any trouble. Thanks for continuing to
persue this. I appreciate it immensely. LCU

Hello again, ladyluke.

Try this link, which goes through an anonymizing proxy service:

It worked!!! I still don't know what caused me to lose access to the
site in the first place, but I'm just glad to be able to access it
now. I've added the link to my favorites. Thanks for the help. Have
an even greater regard for Google now. You have accomplished
something my gurus couldn't solve.

ladyluke,

I'm delighted that my work-around enabled you to see the page, but I
am still baffled as to the cause of your problem. Do you want me to
post my proxified link as the official answer to your question (and
explain why it works), or do you require that the root cause be
identified?

Try doing a search for a file called HOSTS and delete it to see if
that will fix it.

Hi pinkfreud

Sorry it has taken me so long to reply. I wanted to continue to use
Proxify and see just how well it works. Of course, I keep getting a
message asking if I want to subscribe.....and I may in due time. It
has been working well. Thanks so much for your input!

works for me using Opera browser from a British ISP

www.lbfca.diaryland.com gives the Diaryland error page. However both
pages display correctly in the browser.

http://lbfca.diaryland.com/ works when followed as a link *back* from lbfca3.

One thought which occured to me when I had similar problems was the
case of the personal firewall.
Some privacy products like norton or mcafee have a feature which
filters supposed "dangerous" websites. and they also allow you to
manually add websites to the "prevent access" feature. If you have a
product like this, try disabling it and give it a go.

The problem may have occurred because the web site's hosting company
is using a blacklist of IP addresses that supposedly are sources of
spam. These blacklists can be much too broad and often include dialup
and broadband IP addresses... which are reused by different users all
the time. You could be dialing into a block of IPs that is currently
on such a questionable list. The anonymizing proxy has a different IP
address, which is all the web site sees when you use that proxy, so in
this case you get through. I've had similar problems from time to time
and occasionally use a proxy on my server at work when I need to visit
a site that, for some misguided reason, "hates" my home IP address.
