Dear Jack,

Chicago Area
============
"Hawthorn Woods is a master-planned, gated community with 592 lots
around an Arnold Palmer-designed golf course and a 12-acre lake. The
clubhouse features an indoor pool, tennis courts, a fitness center.
The homes range from the mid $400,000s to more than $1 million, and
all have frontage on the golf course or lake. They are all low
maintenance (yard work and snow removal is hired out) and everyone in
the development is a member of the country club."

More Communities
================

Similar to Toll Brothers, Coldwell Banker also specialise in gated
communities and luxury real estate and have several interesting
offerings in both areas: http://www.coldwellbanker.com/homepage.html

The site New Home Resource <http://www.newhomesource.com/> offers
several sources in each area. Its disadvantage is your inability to
screen a community by its security level, and other factors you
mentioned. However, they do provide a good source for this kind of
real-estate.
