Question ID: 303099
Can you provide me with a list of 20 or more "rack jobbers" in the USA
and Canada that currently service convenience stores with a Video
(and/or DVD) rental program (rental NOT purchase). This type of rack
jobber typically buys video movies and then puts these into a
convenience store along with racks, signage and a computer system for
a % of the gross rental receipts or for a flat fee basis. These rack
jobbers typically bundle ebverything needed to deploy a video program
into a convenience store. Video rack jobbers are typically stand alone
companies or can also be video clubs that rack a portion of their
inventory to the convenience stores in outlying towns. These rack
jobbers are typically found in rural areas. I am only interested in
rack jobbers that currently service over 10 locations. The list must
include name
of the organization, address, phone number, size of operation, years
in business and web link (if available). I would like an answer by
January 20, 2004. I will double the fee if 30 active video rental rack
jobbers can be located.

Hi sugarpop,

I was wondering if you would be interested in receiving information
for only two movie video rack jobbers which meet all of your
requirements - including sizes, histories, contacts, and websites, one
is in Canada and the other in the U.S. I have searched extensively and
sent out numerous enquiries but have been unable to find more than two
(if you are interested in music rack jobbers, let me know). If this
sounds ok with you, you could reduce the price of this question and
post a new one for the remaining eight rack jobbers - perhaps another
researcher will have better luck than I have had.

Regards,
hummer

I know there are many out there in this country alone. They are just
very hard to find. I'm not sure the web is the answer. Possibly
talking with Video distributors (those that sell movies on the
wholesale market) may be a starting point. I would be mildly
interested in your information. I'm really looking for qhantity. I
could pay you $20 for current info (200/20).

Hi sugarpop,

Yes, I agree, there must be a whole gaggle of rack jobbers out there.
I did contact wholesalers/distributors and video stores but either
they don't know any rack jobbers or they prefer to keep their contacts
to themselves, I don't know. It was frustrating because lists of music
rack jobbers are available - there are even "Best Music Rack Jobber of
the Year" awards!

I appreciate your offer of $20, thank you. In case you are wondering
why I said "post a new one for the remaining eight rack jobbers", for
some reason I thought your question asked for a list of ten rack
jobbers, so you took me aback alittle when you said 200/20. As an act
in good faith, and to confirm that these are what you are looking for,
following are the two that I found which I will be happy to post as an
answer.

Thank you,
hummer

Thanks for answers. What should be next steps for me and my question?
How do I remit to you? I really would like to get some answers? Any
suggestions?

Hi sugarpop,

You can either:

1) Post a new question, "For hummer-ga" in the subject line and leave
this one as is (or reduce the price to $180, or whatever you'd like to
do).

2) Reduce the price of this question for me and I will answer it and
then you can post a new question for $180 or whatever.

Option 2 may be more interesting because posting a new question will
be seen by all researchers, giving it a better chance of being
answered.

Thanks,
hummer
