I then searched through the 250 results for easy games which use DirectX v9.0.

that's a very good answer. but i want to add that as you like a game
maybe you will see that game as EASY (to play).every people has
different ability in game.maybe some people expert in RTS n other in
RPG. so i suggest you to pick a game,play it,try to like it and see if
it "EASY to play".one more thing,if you want to play an "EASY  to
play" game, try EASY difficulity mode. it help you much. or if you
want more fun, use cheat code in some games. you will find that those
games are "EASY to play". in fact, i do this for fun. but if it
possible, finish the game first. then replay the game,and this time
use cheat codes for your fun....to have "EASIER to play" game.....
