I am looking for informtion on a transmission installed on a Barber Greene Trenching Machine Model TA-57 Serial No. TA57X132 possibly manufactured in 1977. The transmission is called "transmission & pump drive gear box" in the parts catalog. Barber Greene went out of business many years ago therefore it is difficult to trace the source of supply of spare parts for this machine. The transmission has no name plate on it which makes it difficult to identify the manufacturer of the transmssion. There is however a embossed number in the casting of the gear box housing which reads "A53-2602CR". My gutt feeling is that this transmission if of Allison manufacture. I am not sure I am correct in assuming this. Transmission could be of any other manufacture My question is: 1) Manufacturer of the transmission. 2) The source for supply of spare parts for this transmission. |
