I don't feel like renting the DVD to find out.
Could someone please tell me Danny Boyle's alternate,

Thanks...

Hello.

I've located the following descriptions of the alternate endings of
Danny Boyle's "28 Days Later":

" I watched the 'alternate ending' to 28 Days Later last night...
Our heroes... are driving away at high speed in a taxi cab. Jim is on
the back seat, dying, having been badly wounded in the fight with
Eccleston. The two girls manage to drive to a nearby hospital (despite
being out in the middle of nowhere the last time we saw them) where
they perform emergency CPR on Jim and pump him full of drugs (despite
the fact it?s been established previously that neither of them has any
medical training)...
...But then director Danny Boyle decides that what the film really
needs is a 'dream sequence' of Jim riding around London on his bike
(he was a cycle messenger, remember), intercut with the hospital
footage. It's badly shot and really quite unintentionally hilarious,
as Jim pedals away to himself whilst the ladies try in vain to restart
his heart...
Jim comes to a stop - clearly tired of all that pedalling - looks into
the camera lens and says "f--- it"; at which point a car ploughs into
him (in the dream) and he dies (in the hospital)...
...Then the very final scene is exactly the same as the one you'll
have seen at the cinema, except that Jim, being dead, has been
replaced by a chicken."

'The first ending was labeled "Alternate Theatrical Ending". In the
original ending you see bits and peices of Selena and Hannah take Jim
into the hospital. Well, this alternate ending is them trying to save
Jim. he doesnt make it. It was a mellow dramatic (sic) ending that in
the end just served as bits and pieces for the original ending. The
second one is very similar to the original. It starts off where they
are in the meadow lands. This time instead of Jim, there is a
chicken... The third was labeled the radical alternate ending. It
starts where Frank gets infected at the blockade. Rather than having
the solidiers, it takes a different time line. Jim ties up Frank cause
the radio broadcast says there is a cure for the infection. So they go
up the road and end up in the facility where the movie starts out.
Blah, Blah, they figure out how to save frank, and the end. Theres
more to it but I dont wanna give it away. By the way, it is not acted
out and is a story board drawing with stage cues and dialouge voiced
out..."

" The first ending is the one that was attached to prints of 28 Days
Later four weeks after theatrical release. It is dubbed "what if" and
explores the possibility of Jim dying in a hospital. The second ending
is kind of the same, except a chicken turns up somewhere and it's only
Selena and Hannah who signal the aircraft with the huge "hello"
banner.
The third is billed as the "radical ending" and explores the story
where it could have gone if it weren't for the soldiers. It is
presented in storyboard form..."

"An alternative ending Jim dies and is replaced by a chicken called Jim.
A second alternative ending (told with storyboards only) which
changes the film from when Selena is asking Jim to kill Frank.
Instead, he ties up Frank and they find an abandoned medical facility,
where they also find the lab with the (now dead) monkeys at the start
of the film. A man there tells them that they need to give Frank a
complete blood transfusion, which would result in the donor's
infection. Jim goes through with the transfusion, saving Frank's life
but infecting himself. The film ends with Jim ties to the same table
the monkey was tied to at the start of the film.
A third alternative ending in which Selena and Hannah rush Jim into
hospital, and as she tries to revive him we see Jim dreaming of the
accident that put him in the coma in the first place (he was hit by a
car). Jim dies, however, and Selena and Hannah take their guns and
walk away to try to continue surviving as they have done."

"The "everyone hails the plane" ending was the original ending.
The alternate version sees Jim dying after the Major puts a bullet
in him (there's all the stuff where Selena tries to save him in the
hospital, but he dies anyway). At the end, Selena and Hannah wave to
the plane, but there's no Jim. There's also a monologue from Selena
about "the need to procreate" but it pulls back to reveal that she's
addressing a chicken."

" The original ending had Jim dying in the Hospital from
: the gunshot wound.
: The second alternate ending had Selena and Hannah waving
: down the plane as Jim was dead.
(with Jim being replaced by a chicken...)"

search strategy:
"28 days later", "alternate ending"
"28 days later", ending, jim, hospital, chicken

I hope this helps.

Nicely done. Thanks! Roughly the same price as, but much quicker
than, renting it and watching again!

Yeah and actually watching it would have been a waste of your money.
The alternate endings were way crappier than the one in the film.
