(I respect all Google Researchers, but believe that leader-ga is
particularly well suited to answer this question. As such, if you are
not leader, please do not pick up this question.)
Hi leader-ga,
Further to my previous question, I am looking for contact information
for companies, governmental organizations, quasi-governmental
organizations, and the like (we'll call them all companies, for the
purposes of this question), that meet the following criteria:
(a) located in Delhi or Bangalore, AND
(b) owned domestically, i.e., they should not be a branch office of a
foreign company, such as Sun or Motorola, AND
(c) interested in marketing in or expanding to the US, or elsewhere
internationally, AND
(d) actively involved in R&D, i.e., not a company who is excellent at
producing goods or services using generally known methods, such as
computer chips, pills, call centers, Web site support, etc. From your
last answer, I understand that the non-R&D fraction of the hi-tech
business community is very high.
The criterion I would like you to use for determining active
involvement in R&D is the filing of patent applications. No need to
use Delphion, as you should be able to get all of the information from
the USPTO "manual" search engine for patent publications
(http://appft1.uspto.gov/netahtml/PTO/search-adv.html), or for patents
(http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/search-adv.htm).
I recommend using the tools that the USPTO provides, such as "inventor
city" (enter, for example: IC/Delhi), and "assignee city" (enter, for
example: AC/Bangalore). If you only look through patent publications
and feel that that was basically complete, that's fine; patents
themselves are already a few years past filing, and may reflect
realities that have grown stale. (Nevertheless, they're definitely
good if they're within your time budget.)
When you've found companies that satisfy criteria A, B, C, and D
above, I would like as much of the following as possible: URL's,
street addresses, and an e-mail address and phone number of a
responsible decision maker (e.g., a CEO or a head of R&D). In the
absence of a responsible decision maker, a front desk e-mail address /
phone number would be ok, too.
I think that this question will require considerably less time than my
previous question, which was very broad, and probably required a fair
amount of thinking. As such, I have bid it in at a lower price. If
you disagree, however, please let me know. (Don't squeeze too hard,
however.)
Good luck!
