Hi, hitman83,

It would be helpful if you tell us which country you have in mind and
perhaps, (if you are planning a trip there), an estimate of how much
cash you'd like to take with you.

Thanks,

revbrenda

Hi again, hitman83,

Well, it appears that none of the three countries you've chosen have
restrictions on how much money you bring with you, although I did find
(and have posted them here) special circumstances for France and
Malaysia.

Austria:

"Foreign money and euros can be brought into Vienna without any
restrictions. There is no restriction on taking foreign money out of
the country, either."
Frommers.com : Destinations : Austria : Planning a Trip : Money
http://www.frommers.com/destinations/austria/1757020005.html

"No restrictions on import and export of Austrian and other currencies."

France:

"Currency or Monetary Instruments
Although there is no restriction on the total amount of money brought
into or out of France, anyone carrying more than 50,000 French francs
(or its equivalent) in any form must file a Report of International
Transportation of Currency or Monetary Instrument ("déclaration de
sommes, titres et valeurs")."
Tourism in France

50,000 French francs as of 2004.02.06 16:50:13 GMT equals 9,682.68 USD

Malaysia:

"Exchange Control
Foreign visitors may freely bring in foreign banknotes or other types
of foreign money. Upon leaving Thailand, a foreign tourist may take
out foreign means of payment, which he brought in with him. However,
there is a limit on foreign notes or coins to a maximum equivalent of
10,000 US Dollars unless the visitor has declared a higher amount upon
arrival."

Thanks for the question and good luck with your report,
