dear Researchers,

If you have taken the tests, I would like to know about your opinion.
Almost any answer accepted as long as the experience has been _yours_
and not second-hand. I will not accept any research or answer that
describes what jocf does, why they do it, or how they do their tests.

I just want your personal opinion on the tests and what you think of
their assessments of your results.

Thanks so much!

I took the Highlands Program battery of 19 tests. This is a newer
version of the Johnson O'Connor. I hated it. It took over three hours
of timed tests on various abilities -- hearing, memory, spatial
perception and many others. It was incredibly boring and I had a hard
time sticking with it. I felt the results were way off on some of the
instruments. It's supposed to measure abilities not interests or
aptitudes and I don't think it's very useful for people who already
have some work experience under their belt.

Good luck.

Several years ago, my local Mensa group took a private tour of a
Johnson O'Connor facility. Those of us who were interested got to take
the tests, free of charge. Afterwards a few dozen of us discussed
this, and all of us were quite underwhelmed by the experience.

I worked for nearly a decade as a professional administrator of tests
(primarily aptitude tests and IQ tests). The people at Johnson
O'Connor did not, in my view, perform well as test administrators, and
the tests themselves I found annoying rather than challenging.

If I were grading them on GA's five-star system, I would give Johnson
O'Connor two stars.
