Hey don't know if you do this type of research but here goes.

I'm looking for good headphones with mic headset.  Nothing stupendous
but I'm having trouble rounding up all the headsets there are to
choose from with one requirment.  The mic needs to be detachable.
First and foremost I want a good set of headphones with good sound,
especialy bass.  The mic just has to not suck essentialy.
My plan for use is mostly for MP3 and CD players.  I really don't want
to be walking down the street with a big headset on with a mic
attached (even if it is up on the side of my head). I'd like to be
able to throw the mic on there attach it to my computer and finally
play a game with a headset and i don't really like the idea of buying
a mic that's on my desk.

If you could direct me to a few different kinds that would be perfect.

It's important to find a set that it would come off of.  Don't care
who you are... if you walk down the street with a boom mic attached to
your headset your a techno geek.

Check out http://www.headsets.com for several products that will meet
your needs.  Many of the headsets listed have very small, adjustable
microphones that you won't even notice when you move it up.

As far as I know, the headset you're looking for doesn't exist. 
Different headsets are built to work with different devices.  For
example, some headsets are built to work with a phone, so you use RJ11
phone cords to plug everything together.  However, other headphones
are designed to work with a portable music device, and use standard
3.5mm connectors.

I don't believe there is a headset available that can plug into both a
phone, and a audio device.

I cannot find any headphones for any device with a detachable
microphone. I would just say pick up a cheap pair for your cd player
and another $15ish pair with a mic for playing games.
