Question ID: 304233
When i purchased my Sony HT-5500 (a 5-disc DVD/CD changer associated
with a home theatre system), it was set to play through all discs. I
can see where the text should be on the display, but i cannot for the
life of me convince my remotes to turn on that feature. I also cannot
find a manual that describes this.

The remotes that came with the system are:

RMT-D143A
RM-PP411

How do i turn "all discs" back on?

Additional notes:

Repeat only allows me to repeat the track or the disc, even though it
used to allow me to repeat all discs.

I tried putting in only original (no burnts) CDs. That doesn't change anything.

Someone suggested a continue button, but there's no such thing on either remote.

Hi zephoria,

Is this helpful?

http://www.iq.sony.com/srvs/conversation/externalredirect.asp

Follow this procedure to cancel program play:

If the program play feature is active in the DVD player, on the remote
control, press the DISPLAY button twice.
Press the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW to select PROGRAM.
Press the ENTER button.
Press the UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW to select OFF.
Press the ENTER button.
Press the DISPLAY button repeatedly until the display is removed from
the television screen

All I could find online, but thought it might help solve your problem.
Do let me know.

Regards,

clouseau-ga - thank you for this suggestion. Unfortunately, i can't
figure out how to test it without owning a TV. (Yes, i realize how
silly it is that i own a home theatre system without owning a TV, but
it's true... the TV broke and i just turned the home theatre system
into a stereo system.)

You don't know how many times each needs to be pushed to go through
their menus do you?

Otherwise, i will try to borrow a TV to try this.

Ah! But somehow, you got me pushing random buttons in that area of my
remote and the little "all discs" reappeared! Not entirely sure if i
could do it again, but thank you!
