Is there a name/word for language that is generated at the top + front
of the palate (e.g. P, B, G), as opposed to Guttural which is
generated at the back of the throat ?
A good example is Tagalog in the Philippines ? you can check it out on
http://www.inq7.net/ - "DZBB Radio" text in the right side of the
screen. The radio is in Tagalog.

The term given to the type of sound made when articulating the letter
?G? is ALVEOLAR.

A consonant articulated with the tip of the tongue near the gum ridge
is an alveolar sound. [G, J, etc]

The term you are looking for that describes the motion necessary to
articulate the letter ?P? is BILABIAL

A consonant that is articulated using both lips is a BILABIAL
consonant. [P, B, W, etc]
