Question ID: 304416
In the late sixties the BBC aired a serial drama called the Forsythe
Saga based on the books of John Galsworthy. I believe the entire
serius consisted of 26
one hour programs. I would be interested in purchasing a recording of
this serial (preferably on DVD)

I would thus like to know where I could purchase this and how much it
would cost (in dollars or Stering)

The adaptation of Galsworthy's satirical novels, collectively called
the Forsyte Saga (a pun on foresight, by the way), about the upper
middle class in late Victorian-early 20th Century England was produced
in 1967. It starred Eric Porter as Soames, Nyree Dawn Porter (no
relation to Eric) as Irene, and Susan Hampshire as Fleur. The
versatile Kenneth More played Young Jolyon. It was in black and white.

The Internet Movie Database provides useful information about the
series, including the availability of video copies.

Note: the DVD offerings at the Blackstar site are for the recent
(2002-2003) remake of the series, not for the original TV adaptation.
The remake differs significantly from both the original adaptation and
the source text of Galsworthy.
