newbie2004 --

The first album released by Ministry of Sound was "The Sessions Volume
One -- Mixed by Tony Humphries." It was released in 1993 and has the
catalog number "MINCD01".

Ministry of Sound was founded in 1991 as a London club. Its record
label was established in 1993, and the company has since become an
internationally recognized youth brand.

The London Nightlife Web site includes an interesting history of
Ministry of Sound, which includes this statement:

"As a brand, Ministry of Sound has a reputation for being the
authority in dance music which has sprung from its incredibly
successful club in South London. The same brand quality has
effectively been transposed into the albums, many of which were mixed
by DJs who played the club. For instance the first album, Sessions 1,
released in 1993, was mixed by New York's legendary Tony Humphries,
the club's first resident."

CD and includes a picture of its cover:

Search Strategy:

I used Google searches to find the information in several steps.
First I found the year that Ministry of Sound was established using
the following search terms:

"ministry of sound" "established in"

I then conducted searches aimed at determining when the club expanded
into the record business, using search terms such as the following:

"ministry of sound" 1992 OR 1993
://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1&q=%22ministry+of+sound%22+label+1992+OR+1993

This search led directly to the London Nightlife site linked above. I
then confirmed the information with a final search using the following
terms:

"ministry of sound" "sessions I OR one"
://www.google.com/search?q=%22ministry+of+sound%22++%22sessions+I+OR+one%22+1993&btnG=Google+Search&hl=en&lr=&ie=ISO-8859-1

This led to the Opus 4 site that included the catalog number of
Sessions I that supports the conclusion that this was indeed the
company's first release.

I am confident that this is the information you are seeking. If
anything is unclear, please ask for clarification before rating this
answer.
