The Borowitz report, which is an online newsletter on the Internet, reports: "God, Googled, Exists" (Feb. 7, 2004) http://www.borowitzreport.com/ It might be noted that God has 59 million links, while Devil 9.4 million links (and Satan another 3 million). Unicorn, another being that is rarely observed, counts 1.5 million links. Microsoft's beta search facility for MSN only finds about 8.9 million links for God. It finds about 1.6 million for Devil. Coincidentally it also finds 1.6 million for Gates; of course that could be Gates, Pearly or Gates, Bill. While this Google Answer might not be an exhaustive search of the Internet, the existence of God is supported by Page Rank algorithms. Best regards, Omnivorous-GA |

I like this story: "The story is told of an atheist scientist, a friend of Sir Isaac Newton, who knocked on the door and came in after Newton had just finished building an orrery (a machine that duplicates the rotations of the planets and the planets' orbits about the sun--you crank the handle and the planets and moons move around a fixed "sun" in the middle of the model). The man saw the machine and said "how wonderful" and went over to it and started cranking the handle and watched planets go around. As he was doing this he asked, "who made this?" Sir Isaac stopped writing and said "nobody did," then carried on writing. The man said, "You didn't hear me. Who made the machine?" Newton replied, "I told you. Nobody did." The friend stopped cranking and turned to Isaac. "Now listen Isaac, this marvelous machine must have been made by somebody - don't keep saying that nobody made it." At that point Newton stopped writing and got up. He looked at his friend and said, "Now isn't it amazing. I tell you that nobody made a simple toy like that and you don't believe me. Yet you gaze out into the solar system - the intricate marvelous machine that is around you and upon which this orrery is based - and you dare say to me that no one made that. I don't believe it." As far as the record goes the atheist went away and was no longer an atheist. He was suddenly converted to the idea that God was behind the laws that were found in creation." So--is there a God? Look out the window. |

The book of Isaiah, in the Bible, written 732 b.c.e., quite a while before Jesus` time, and part of the Hebrew scriptures, has a pretty good answer. Isaiah chapter 40, verse 26 " Raise your eyes high up and see. Who has created these things [ the sun, moon and stars] It is the ONE who is bringing forth the army of them even by number, all of whom he calls even by name. Due to an abundance of dynamic energy, HE also being vigorous in power, not one of them is missing. This is backed by the scriptures at Genesis chapter one verses 14 to 19. Verse 16 in particular states " And GOD proceeded to make the two greaqt luminaries, The greater luminary [the sun] for dominating the day, and the lesser luminary [ the moon] for dominating the night...AND ALSO THE STARS. The ancient Hebrews knew these were simply physical things, as we know today, and certainly did not attribute any powers or "Godhead" to the sun or stars like the Egyptians and surrounding pagan civilizations. Their faith told them the simple truth..God made them.. God does exist. |

While there are many ways to approach God on the intellectual side - such as looking at stars, watching the beauty and perfection of wild nature ( i meant wild and no human modified nature suffering from pollution ), the beautiful co-operation of nature, the healing power of nature, and many other methods, .. one more powerful than anything else is to actually FEEL God's love inside you - a mystic spiritual experience of true love felt inside your heart and soul, from a source unseen by most mortal humans and yet existing and ready to let you feel love, to let you experience to BE loved, and finally to let you fall in love - in love with God. There is a powerful love prayer that lets you experience true divine love from God - anytime, anywhere, whoever you are. Just relax and take your time .. Here you see how - http://www.kriyayoga.com/english/on_your_wings/love_prayer.html it's so easy for all and you will actually feel God's love if your quest for god is sincere and true then your heart will be open and love and God can be felt and the answer will be so powerful and sweet that you never can have any such question again. Dr. William S. Hatcher has put forward a logical proof of God's existance. You can find it in his book "Love, Power and Justice: the Dynamics of Authentic Morality", as well as in several earlier works. http://www.onecountry.org/e102/e10214as.htm ://www.google.com/search?sourceid=mozclient&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&q=hatcher+god http://www.columbiaspectator.com/vnews/display.v/ART/2004/02/17/4031d9166ab57 |
