Hello tapoe,

Yes, it is Rudyard Kipling, and the title of the poem is "If".

You can read it here:
http://whitewolf.newcastle.edu.au/words/authors/K/KiplingRudyard/verse/p3/if.html

This is a site that focuses on the works of Kipling. The home page at
http://whitewolf.newcastle.edu.au/words/authors/K/KiplingRudyard/index.html
has links to many more of his poems, as well as 6 novels, a number of
short stories and non-fiction pieces.

Kipling won the Nobel Prize in Literature for 1907. The web site of
the Nobel Foundation has a page featuring a biography of him, with
links to his prize acceptance speech.

Search strategy:
I was already aware of the poem. I searched on Kipling "be a man",
and then Kipling + biography to obtain a bit more information.
