Please find the contact person to gain permission to use the Live Aid
logo from the 1985 Live Aid concert that featured Bob Geldof. It
apparently was part of the Band Aid Trust that suppossedly became
defunct in 1991 or 1992

Dear kukul47-ga,
The Band Aid Charitable Trust is still fully operational and still
making donations to Ethiopia and surrounding areas. Would the contact
details of the Trust be an acceptable answer? They are based in
London.

Dear kukul47-ga,
Thank you for your clarification but I now believe that the Band Aid
Charitable Trust may not be the holders of the copyright and therefore
cannot answer your question.

As I stated, the Band Aid Charitable Trust is still fully operational
and still making donations to Ethiopia and surrounding areas ? as you
will see from the articles referred to at the end of this answer.

In the UK, the Charity Commission is responsible for the supervision
of Registered Charities.
This is an extract from their database.

This address, is that of a Chartered Accountants. I telephoned their
office this morning. Mr Williams was not available. I indicated I was
seeking information on the ownership of the Band Aid / Live Aid Logos.
They indicated Mr Williams could deal with that, or in his absence,
Mr Joe Cannon (sic). I called again this afternoon and neither were
available. However, the person I spoke to did raise the doubt that the
Trust may not own the copyright. You may find it worthwhile talking to
them as they may have some information.

A search of the U.S. Copyright Office database indicates that the logo
may be owned by the Live Aid Foundation. I do not know if it this the
particular logo to which you are referring. The agent for the
Foundation is Worldwide Sports & Entertainment, Inc. I have not been
able to trace the company after 1997. I am unable to state if they
have gone into bankruptcy / merged / taken over by any other company.
