Research on fertility in women with Down Syndrome is very limited.
Increased risk of thyroid disease, coupled with decreased ovarian
performance, reduce fertility in these women. Apart from natural
factors, many families of women with Down?s provide means of birth
control (Oral contraceptives, tubal ligations) to prevent unwanted
pregnancies.
