Hello Jbsass,
Below you will find the results of my research for videos that focus
on parents dealing with the death of a child.
Turning Toward the Morning: Parents? Stories of Loss, Grief and
Transcendence (2002)
Produced by Rites of Passage
Distributed by Aquarius Health Care Videos, Olde Medfield Square, 266
Main St., Suite 33B, Medfield, MA 02052; 888-440-2963
VHS, color, 36 min.
?This video articulates the stages of grief experienced by two sets of
parents after the unexpected passing away of their children one by
accident, and the other by suicide. The two separate narratives
illustrate, in a reflective mode, the life of each child before the
tragic events remembering various aspects of their behavior while
relating the hopes, dreams, and expectations for each one. The stories
culminate with each family moving forward, accepting the fact that
death is a part of life.?

Footprints on Our Hearts
?Footprints on Our Hearts: How to cope after a miscarriage, stillbirth
or newborn death, is a brand new 60 minute video from Paraclete Press.
It takes a compassionate look at this traumatic event in mens' and
women's lives, and offers in-depth help for this grief filled time.
Those who have "been there" share their feelings and reactions to the
death of their baby, the importance of remembering, how men and women
handle grief differently, and how they can be assisted in the grieving
process. This empowering and uplifting tape is a vital addition to the
video library of any bereaved parent and certainly should be available
to bereaved parents for viewing at every hospital's library. The video
is packaged with a booklet that gives additional support.?

stillbirth or newborn death experience, another video by Paraclete
Press, is a companion to the video "Footprints...." This video offers
an in-depth compassionate look at grief after the death of an infant,
and examines the feelings of helplessness, guilt, frustration, anger
and sadness that often result. It offers family members, friends and
early caregivers (such as clergy, doctors, nurses and counselors),
ways to help, what to say and do...and what not to say and do.
"Finally, a state-of-the-art video available to family and friends
[and caregivers] that will enhance their understanding of the parents'
feelings and needs."

Bereaved parents (1988, 28 min. - BF 575 .G7 B472)
?This specially adapted Phil Donahue program addresses the issues of
overwhelming loss and guilt and suggests that parents can survive
their bereavement by sharing their grief with others, and by thinking
and speaking about the lost child, particularly about happy memories.

terms with their loss; counseling is often necessary here.?
