I am trying to find the average response rate of direct mail where the
mailing list is from a company's house list. I define house list as
names and addresses that are from customers or people who have
actually "signed up" to receive communications from a company. I am
aware that generally direct mail response range from 1-2% but that's
usually because a company buys a list of addresses from a list broker.

I just wanted to clarify my definition of direct mail as being actual
mail pieces that are printed, postaged, and mailed. I don't want to
include email.
