Since the answer that was previously posted has now been removed,
along with your clarification statement, you may want to reiterate
that you are not looking for Aaron Neville as an answer, but want the
name of a singer who performed this song in an earlier version of the
cotton commercial.

I believe it's the singer Ritchie Havens.
